Tonight during TVM I said that I would blog about the seven ministry gifts that God has given to the church, so that it can function day to day. With these gifts each person in the church can function. I truly believe that each person has a primary gift in one of the seven and a secondary gift. Functioning in your primary and secondary gifts will charge you up! I said tonight that purpose is not what you do, but who you do it for. If you use your skills, gifts and talents for your self then you are purposeless. If you use it to serve God and your generation then you have a purpose. It's with the following gifts that we serve God and our generation.
These gifts are taken out of Romans 12 verses six through eight.
1. Prophecy - Those who can clearly see and proclaim God's Word and Righteousness.
2. Serving - Those who see others natural needs and have a desire to take care of them.
3. Teaching - Those with the ability to search out the truth and communicate it effectively.
4. Exortation - Those with the ability to apply God's Word to peoples lives and situations.
5. Giving - Those with an ability to see others financial needs and have a desire to take care of those needs.
6. Administration - Those with the ability to organize the work of others.
7. Mercy - Those with the ability to show genuine compassion to those in need.
This is just a brief description of each of the gifts. As I said each of us has at the least one gift and probably all of us have two or more. If you'd like more details on a specific one of these to help you decide which ones you have email me at twarren@trclife.com. There are of course other talents outside of the above list. This is just a starting point. Good night and see you next Saturday at TVM at 8pm for the message prepare your prayer.
